2. What data we collect
Information you provide directly
- Account details: your name and email address when you sign up
- Assignment content: titles, briefs, due dates, and any files or images you upload
- Task lists and notes: text you submit to the AI Organiser
- Reminder preferences: your chosen reminder email and consent settings
- Profile preferences: timezone, language, and display preferences
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and errors encountered (via Sentry — see section 5)
- Authentication tokens: session cookies managed by Supabase Auth
- Payment data: billing details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers
Files you upload
When you upload files (PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations), the content is extracted and passed to our AI service (Anthropic) to generate your study plan or organise your tasks. We do not permanently store the raw file — only the extracted text is processed.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Provide and personalise your study planning experience
- Generate AI-powered study plans and task lists using your assignment content
- Send reminder emails about upcoming deadlines (only with your explicit consent)
- Process subscription payments securely via Stripe
- Diagnose and fix errors and bugs in the service
- Respond to support enquiries
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your assignment content to train AI models.

- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

8. Cookies
We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in. These are necessary for the service to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Children
StudyTracker AI is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to this policy
We will notify users of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
